FLOATING FOUNTAINS
Installing a Floating Fountain
We know what you're thinking! "This looks pretty, but I'll bet I need a doctorate degree to install this baby in my lake or pond...." To tell you the absolute truth, the exact opposite is true. Coastal's floating fountain units are engineered so you don't have to be an engineer. When you purchase the fountain unit and the appropriate accessories, installation is fairly simple, if you follow a few rules.

The diagram shown above is a side view of a typical floating fountain installation. Of course, Coastal recommends a licensed electrical or mechanical contractor for installation, considering that if the job is done right at the start, everything after is pretty much smooth sailing.
This is the recommended electrical power supply layout for easy installation and removal of equipment.

This is the top view of the installation, showing recommended locations of the power box and buried power cable. This design allows easy access to the fountain Control Box and it's wiring setup. The figure below is a recommended method of building your Control Box.

Typical Mooring
With respect to mooring the floating fountain when you have it where you like it, you should allow approximately three (3) feet of mooring rope per foot of water depth so you have adequate slack for water level fluctuation. The water level in the lake or pond naturally fluctuates, the level changing by rain, ice or snow in the winter, and other factors of good old Mother Nature.
Typical Electrical
The floating fountain equipment is manufactured either to UL, CSA, or NEMA standards. All floating fountain 1/2 and 1 HP units are designed to plug right into a properly installed outlet. However, if the situation necessitates, conduit wiring is permitted.
Important Safety Tip!
Coastal strongly recommends using Ground Fault Protection on any electrical device. For further information on Ground Fault Protection, we suggest you contact a local electrician.
